Donate Life Kentucky Trust supports Kentuckians through programs funded by dollar donations at driver’s license branches and additional fundraising efforts by volunteers and philanthropic contributors: Educate and Inspire: We provide public education and outreach, including Kentucky driver’s license training, educational materials, and community events. We also fund scholarships to Kentucky students who champion organ, tissue and eye donation awareness and support vital partnerships to maintain the Kentucky Donor Registry. Currently, 1,000 Kentuckians and 100,000 children and adults in America are waiting for their gift of life. Aid Transplant Patients and Families: We partner with Transplant Centers to offer critical assistance to Kentucky transplant patients and their families, covering travel expenses, lodging, medications, and essential needs. Our Pediatric Pre-Transplant Patient Assistance Fund supports young patients and families facing a daunting time on the waiting list. We have seen a 45% growth in requests, now averaging five requests per week for $1,000 each to help patients in need. Support Donor Families: We provide compassionate support for the vital needs of donor families, which may include lodging, daily necessities, burial or cremation costs, and transportation of remains. We partner with Kentucky’s organ procurement organization to support aftercare programs, such as children’s camps and grief support initiatives. We have seen a massive increase in requests and now require at least $50,000 per year to meet the needs of these generous families.
