Dot Connector Studio is a network of producers, strategists, researchers, and futures practitioners working together at the intersection of arts, media, democracy, regeneration, and culture. We support innovative philanthropic organizations, nonprofits, and regional organizations that focus on social change. As a refuge for social innovators looking to chart new paths, we collaborate with our clients and co-conspirators to break free of current structures and boldly imagine better futures. DCS is shifting the story of who defines and creates our reality. We imagine and scaffold hopeful futures, and lift up brave organizations and leaders committed to driving social impact and systems change. Dot Connector Studio launched in 2013, when Director Jessica Clark and Katie Donnelly teamed up around a shared conviction: media shouldn't just inform—it should transform. In the early days, we focused on strategy, storytelling, and media impact. But as the world shifted, so did our work. Over time, we found ourselves wanting to move beyond present-day thinking and current trend cycles. That shift naturally led us to embrace futuring—exploring how art, media, and democracy can evolve together in more just and imaginative directions. As our vision expanded, so did our approach to collaboration. This work came into sharper view when Evan Walsh joined the team in 2022 to help us pivot. We realized the futures we’re working toward demand new ways of working now—ones rooted in rest, care, and genuine connection. That ethos now shapes how we engage with each other and with our clients. What began as a strategy firm has become an internal compass—a set of shared tools and values that help us and our partners navigate toward futures that are just, inclusive, and deeply human.
