Douglas C. Lane & Associates, LLC (DCLA) is a registered investment advisory firm based in New York City. We manage approximately $8.0 billion of capital for our client base of high net worth families, trusts, pensions, endowments, foundations and institutions. At DCLA, our investment philosophy seeks to provide growth in our clients' capital through long-term investment in individual equity and fixed-income securities. We do not consider the investment of our clients' capital to be a commodity and, therefore, do not outsource our investment decisions to other firms. Our primary area of expertise is in the analysis of individual stocks and bonds, and management of portfolios comprised of them. We follow a "core" approach to investing, which means that we don't spend a lot of time worrying about which "bucket" (e.g., small-cap, large-cap, growth, value) a company is categorized in by Wall Street. Instead, we keep it simple. We invest in and lend to a wide variety of companies in different sectors, industries and geographies that we believe can generate attractive returns for investors relative to the level of risk involved.
