Douglas Land Conservancy is a nonprofit, nonpolitical land trust focused on protecting the natural character, habitats, ecosystems, and open spaces of Douglas County and surrounding areas along Colorado's central Front Range. Formed in 1987 by concerned community members, the organization operates from Castle Rock and works to conserve land through easements across the region, currently safeguarding more than 28,000 acres in Douglas, Jefferson, and Elbert Counties. Its work is supported by donors, volunteers, partner organizations, and participating landowners.

Approximately half of the conserved land is owned by government entities, including Douglas County and the towns of Parker and Castle Rock, which provide a range of recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. The remaining properties are privately owned and protected through conservation easements that preserve agricultural activity, open space, scenic views, wildlife habitat, and wetlands in perpetuity. The organization published its FY2022-2023 Annual Report in December 2023, documenting its activities and stewardship. In addition to its conservation work, DLC conducts community events and field activities in the region, illustrating its role as a regional partner in land protection.
