The Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta operates in the field of individual and family services, guiding Atlanta’s Down syndrome community by connecting families and self-advocates with partners and resources to support growth and well-being. It serves individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and educators across the lifespan, providing a range of programs and support services. The organization runs Camp Brightside, a weeklong sleepaway camp for individuals aged 13 to 22 with Down syndrome, and coordinates an annual Buddy Walk to raise awareness and funds. It collaborates with partner organizations such as Jack’s Basket and GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta to broaden programming and support, while also offering year-round parent education and social events for families.
