Downtown Columbus, Inc. is a private nonprofit organization based in Columbus, Ohio, focused on community development and urban planning. Its mission is to lead city-changing projects and collaborations that improve connectivity, livability, and inclusivity in the Downtown Columbus experience. It guides the Downtown Columbus Strategic Plan, working across sectors to realize a vision of downtown as connected, people-first urban districts. For more than two decades, DCI has driven transformational change in downtown Columbus, guided by community-led strategic plans that have spurred investment and new residents. Its current initiatives span workforce housing at Topiary Park Crossing, free programming at the Scioto Mile and Dorrian Green, a shopping destination at Common Thread, and continued work on The Peninsula’s phase II, as well as public art and planning for the future Capital Line. In 2026, DCI partnered with COTA to evaluate redevelopment options for the former Greyhound site, supported by a federal grant to hire transit-oriented development advisors and related design services.
