Funding & Grants DGF operates as a national charity with modest annual revenue (<$1M) and a mission to support theater writers through grants, educational programs, and emergency aid. This indicates opportunities to tailor grant management tools, donor management platforms, and scalable fundraising solutions to streamline grant processes and donor engagement.

Leadership & Growth The executive leadership has expanded programs nationwide under long-standing leadership since 2012, suggesting a readiness to scale operations, implement more robust CRM, program management, and analytics to support expansion into new markets and chapters.

Board & Advisory Recent additions to the Board of Directors include high-profile playwrights like David Henry Hwang and James Ijames, signaling a path for partnerships, sponsorships, and access to high-profile networks for fundraising events, workshops, and donor cultivation.

Arts Tech Stack Existing technology stack includes iCIMS, Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Gravity Forms, and front-end libraries, indicating opportunities to offer nonprofit-friendly CRM enhancements, event registration optimization, analytics dashboards, and donor journey optimization integrated with current tools.

Engagement & Events Active engagement through annual galas and collaborations (e.g., 2025 Gala, Scenery Bags partnership, mental health grants) demonstrates receptivity to sponsorships, co-branded programs, and campaigns that align with sustainability, writers’ support, and mental health initiatives.
