Dream Defenders is a political organization based in Miami, Florida, focused on advancing Black freedom and safety for all. Its membership comprises diverse youth, young adults, and students, and the group aims to mobilize hundreds of thousands of young Black people into a national movement that would seek to govern. In the long term, it seeks to end the generation's endorsement of capitalism, propose an alternative vision of society, and affirm that interdependence and wealth redistribution are solutions to poverty and racism. In May 2023, coverage noted that Dream Defenders organized a sit-in protest similar to a past action, illustrating the use of direct-action tactics. Earlier, in 2022, the organization partnered with Movement 4 Black Lives and other groups to launch a coast-to-coast night of solidarity and dialogue.
