Dream Pets is a small Atlanta-based company in the Technology, Information and Internet sector. The brand originated with a line of collectible miniature stuffed animals made of velveteen and filled with willow sawdust, manufactured in Japan beginning in 1957 for R. Dakin & Co by designers Tochigi Mongi and Tomy. By 1979, the range had expanded to more than 2,000 distinct characters.

In 2018, Paige Nichols revived the concept, introducing larger, softer plush Dream Pets. The current offering extends the original idea into a contemporary plush line.
