The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) is the independent regulator for financial services conducted in or from the Dubai International Financial Centre, a purpose-built financial free-zone in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Its mandate spans asset management, banking and credit services, securities, collective investment funds, custody and trust services, commodities futures trading, Islamic finance, and insurance, and it oversees international exchanges for equities and commodities derivatives, as well as supervising anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing requirements and enforcing provisions under the DIFC Companies Law. Based in Dubai in the Dubayy region, the DFSA is a mid-sized regulator serving the DIFC's financial sector with a workforce described as a few hundred staff. Among recent developments, it launched DFSA Connect, an automated licensing platform intended to streamline licensing for financial firms operating within the DIFC.
