Dunes Learning Center operates as the education partner of Indiana Dunes National Park, delivering place-based environmental education programs to foster curiosity about nature and long-term stewardship. Based in Chesterton, Indiana, the center sits on a 63-acre campus of rolling woodland at the southern tip of Lake Michigan, within the national park and less than an hour from Chicago. Serving primary and secondary students and their educators, the organization collaborates with schools and community groups to connect classroom learning with park landscapes and resources. The center is a small team that provides environmental education experiences anchored in place. In 2024, it expanded its program offerings through a partnership with Wilderness Medical Associates International to provide Wilderness First Responder certification courses.
