Dutchess BOCES is a regional public education cooperative located in Poughkeepsie, New York. It was established under a 1948 framework authorized by the New York State Legislature to provide shared educational programs and services to school districts. The arrangement arises when districts identify common needs that can be addressed through a jointly delivered program, allowing resources to be pooled and costs shared. The organization serves school districts as a mid-sized regional provider within New York's BOCES system. A recent development shows the cooperative collaborating with local manufacturing firms, Dorsey Metrology International and MPI, to host students for Manufacturing Day, illustrating industry engagement and hands-on learning opportunities. The focus remains on delivering collaborative programs and services to districts rather than standalone offerings, reinforcing its role as a regional facilitator of shared educational resources in the Poughkeepsie area.
