East Alabama Health is a regional health system anchored by East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika and EAMC-Lanier hospital in Valley, Alabama. It operates a broad range of facilities and services, including an emergency department, outpatient laboratory and radiology, ambulatory surgery, and a Breast Health Center, alongside a cancer program established with the Spencer Cancer Center in 2019. In Opelika, the system expanded infant care with an 11-bed Level III NICU opened in 2021, and it also launched the Auburn Medical Pavilion in 2021 to house freestanding emergency care and related outpatient services. The organization serves Lee County and the surrounding region and is the second-largest employer in the area. It has pursued growth through physician recruitment and has collaborated with Vizient, Inc. since 2023 to address financial and workforce pressures affecting hospitals. In June 2026, East Alabama Medical Center acquired the former Masonic Lodge property and surrounding land in Opelika as part of a deal with the City of Opelika.
