East Pierce Fire & Rescue is a regional public-safety fire and rescue district based in Bonney Lake, Washington. It serves about 100,500 residents living in and around Bonney Lake, Sumner, Lake Tapps, the Ridge Communities, South Prairie, Tehaleh, Edgewood, and Milton. The district covers roughly 153 square miles and operates from six staffed fire stations, plus a marine rescue unit with a facility on Lake Tapps. The department provides fire suppression, rescue, and related emergency services to its communities, and maintains a marine rescue capability at Lake Tapps. In June 2026, it partnered with the Sumner School District and local law enforcement agencies to promote awareness of a state law clarifying the distinction between e-bikes and electric motorcycles.
