Eastern Door Counseling desires to be a resource to the communities it serves. In today’s health care climate, many who seek mental health services do not have the financial resources the need to do so. With health care policies that do not include behavioral health care or have high deductibles, many people who would seek out the support of a mental health professional cannot afford to do so.
The people who cannot afford the support of a mental health professional belong to many communities – family, employment, social, and academic. Compromised mental health affects their ability to be fully contributing members of these communities. This situation can increase isolation thereby creating an unhealthy cycle of despair, lost relationships, underfunctioning, and perhaps even worsening their economic situation.

The optimal future for any community cannot be obtained without healthy human resources. Whole hearts create whole communities. Whole hearts are created by ensuring that every human who needs
behavioral health support has access to it. It is the mission of Eastern Door Counseling to create a community supported fund that will allow the agency to underwrite the cost of behavioral health services for those who need it in order to help create Whole Hearts and Whole Communities.
