Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System (ELMHS) is a mid-sized, state-run health system based in Jackson, Louisiana, and part of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, Office of Behavioral Health. It delivers mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults, with programs spanning inpatient acute interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group homes and residential settings, forensic evaluation, care and custody, and aftercare, coordinated with intermediate and long-term psychiatric care across Louisiana's system of care. The network maintains more than 550 licensed inpatient psychiatric beds and links to affiliated community residential settings and outpatient services. ELMHS operates under two licenses and is accredited by the Joint Commission and CMS-certified.

Treatment options may include medications, behavior therapy, substance use treatment, competency restoration, individual and group therapy, sexual offender treatment, work therapy, treatment malls, and transitional housing within community settings.
