eCLOSE Institute is a Philadelphia-based organization focused on primary and secondary education that trains scientists, teachers, and students to collaboratively address community health challenges. Its Class2Lab program for teachers engages science students in original, student-designed research projects centered on real health issues. The curriculum aligns with biology and health science standards, including AP Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Environmental Science, and Pharmacology. For students, the organization offers three levels of summer camps that teach core laboratory skills while guiding participants to develop original research on diets that may improve community health. Programs are available in person in Philadelphia or through a hybrid format that lets participants conduct research from home or school. Since its inception, eCLOSE Institute has reached more than 7,000 students across six years, reflecting its growth in youth science education.
