Ecomaison is a non-profit, government-authorized environmental organization based in Paris, Île-de-France, founded in 2011 by a coalition of 24 French distributors and furniture manufacturers. It coordinates the collection, sorting, reuse, and recycling of household materials and objects, covering construction products, furniture and bedding, DIY and garden items, and toys. The organization provides companies that place products on the French market with a single integrated interface to manage regulatory obligations related to recycling, reuse, and innovation. It operates a nationwide network of more than 12,000 collection points across France, accessible to professionals and individuals for giving away, reusing, and recycling materials through associations and social economy actors, distributors, partner collection points, or public recycling centers. The system is funded through eco-participation, a fee added at the purchase of new products that finances reuse, collection, recycling, innovation, eco-design incentives, and public information. It is described as the first French supplier of recycled wood, processing about 800,000 tonnes annually to support industrial production, and its ambition is to reach zero waste.
