ERI Economic Research Institute was founded over 35 years ago to provide compensation applications for private and public organizations. ERI compiles the most robust salary, cost-of-living, and executive compensation survey data available, with updated market data for more than 1,100 industry sectors. Data are analyzed using AI and traditional statistics, depending on which approach is best for a particular application. ERI’s published data are derived from five fundamental sources: 1. ERI’s Salary Surveys – ERI conducts salary surveys of HR departments to capture current market rates. 2. Customer HRIS Data – Customer integrations with HRIS systems provide a consistent stream of updated compensation data. 3. Data from Proxies/10-Ks and Forms 990 – Proxies, 10-Ks, and Forms 990 document executive compensation for publicly traded and nonprofit organizations. 4. Proprietary Databases – ERI captures compensation data from HR departments through a variety of portals, which flow into ERI’s databases. 5. Purchased Survey Data – ERI purchases salary survey data from other salary survey firms, which further increase ERI’s data volume.
