EcoTarium is a private, non-profit museum in Worcester that emphasizes science and natural history through hands-on experiences both indoors and outdoors. The venue features three levels of interactive exhibits, planetarium programs, daily science discovery sessions, live animal habitats, forest and meadow nature trails, a seasonal express train ride, and an expansive outdoor space called Nature Explore. Founded in 1825 as the Worcester Lyceum of Natural History and incorporated in 1884 as the Worcester Natural History Society, the institution adopted the EcoTarium name in 1998 to emphasize natural sciences and hands-on discovery. Located in Worcester, it operates as a mid-sized private nonprofit focused on science and nature education within the local community. In 2024, EcoTarium launched the EcoTarium Explorer app, a navigation tool developed in partnership with Worcester Polytechnic Institute to help visitors navigate its outdoor exhibits.
