Ed began his service to the Greenville area following his graduation from Greenville High School. His love for the automobile business reaches back to the days when he began selling cars. In 1985 Ed became the very first Datsun to Nissan dealership in the State of Michigan, despite being told by many that a foreign dealership could not exist in a small, rural community. In 1989, Ed became a pioneer of Greenville's west side development when he purchased Setchfield's Greenville Trailer Sales, adding new and used travel trailers to his retail offering. In the early 1990's, when Ford Lincoln Mercury franchises became available, the Nissan and travel trailer selections had to be sacrificed in an attempt to expand his business and offer a more diverse variety of vehicles. Ed's entrepreneurial achievements are the result of determination, devotion, and dreams. His dealership has grown from 15 to over 100 employees, with increasing sales making him one of the fastest growing dealerships in Michigan. At the same time he is still servicing customers from the 1960's. Ed has donated to many area projects and activities. The American Cancer Society and Muscular Dystrophy are two of the groups, along with many team sponsorships and almost any and all projects for children, especially those with special needs. Ed also served as a volunteer fireman in Turk Lake years ago. Clearly, Greenville is a far stronger community for the efforts of Ed Koehn.
