The Edgecombe County Public School System (ECPS) is located in a uniquely forward-thinking eastern North Carolina community filled with a rich history dating back to the days of George Washington.  The 56,000 residents enjoy comfortable small-town living within an easy one-hour drive west to metro-Raleigh and a pleasant 2-hour drive east to the Outer Banks and the Atlantic Ocean. 

ECPS is committed to preparing young people for the future. The district has 15 high quality schools with approximately 7,800 terrific students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12.  Local students are distributed among well maintained and recently renovated buildings that compose 3 traditional high schools, an Early College High School, 4 middle schools, 5 elementary schools, a combination school (grades 4-6) and an alternative school.
