Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) is a longstanding film festival based in Edinburgh, Scotland. It holds the distinction of being the world's oldest continually operating film festival and underwent a relaunch in 2024 under a new governance structure to refresh its operations while honoring its history. The August program spotlights independent filmmaking, balancing a locally rooted Scottish perspective with international voices and creative expression.

The festival centers two audience‑voted prize awards: the Sean Connery Prize for Feature Filmmaking Excellence, with £50,000, and the Thelma Schoonmaker Prize for Short Filmmaking Excellence, with £15,000. In 2024, EIFF announced partnerships with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to use new venues, reflecting deeper integration with the city’s August cultural calendar. The leadership team is headed by CEO and Festival Director Paul Ridd and Festival Producer Emma Boa, supported by a board that includes Chair Andrew Macdonald and other industry leaders.
