Edison Properties is a Newark, New Jersey-based real estate company founded in 1956 when co-founder Jerry Gottesman started a parking business adjacent to Newark Penn Station. The enterprise expanded from parking into a platform that led to Manhattan Mini Storage and later to the development of office and apartment properties. In 2019, the company relocated its headquarters to a renovated warehouse in downtown Newark, a project known as Ironside Newark that supports its office and retail spaces. The company's activities include parking, storage and urban office and residential properties, reflecting a focus on meeting the needs of customers and communities over the long term. In November 2021 Edison Properties sold its 18-property self-storage portfolio to StorageMart.
