The Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) is a higher education institution established in 1991 as the official training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt. It aims to develop human capital within Egypt's banking ecosystem and to support banking sector development across strategic African and Arab countries by aligning its programs with international banking trends. EBI is governed by a Board of Directors led by the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Hassan Abdallah, and it holds ACCET accreditation since 2009, with reaccreditation through 2024 and accreditation for its Interactive Distance Learning programs in 2021. The institute offers training in banking, management, leadership, information technology, and SMEs, and provides a diversified portfolio of assessment services; its training activities have reached 44 countries and more than 4,000 African trainees. EBI has received multiple awards, including the Best Financial Training Institute in the MENA region (2021) and the Best Financial Training Service Company (2022); in 2025 it launched a mobile application to enhance its e-learning offerings.
