Eiffel Software is a small software development tools company based in Goleta, California, founded in 1985 by Dr. Bertrand Meyer. It positions itself as a thought leader in making software projects predictable and controllable. Its flagship product, EiffelStudio, is an integrated development environment that helps developers translate their mental model into working software while maintaining a clear alignment between the model and the code. As requirements evolve, teams can identify the exact location in the code to implement changes, supporting rapid development, correct operation on the first attempt, and easier adaptability. The company’s toolkit has historically addressed issues such as bug prevention, code reuse, testing, and parallel computing within EiffelStudio. In January 2026, Eiffel Software announced PostgreSQL integration in the EiffelStore library, with EiffelStudio 25.12 delivering native bindings.
