El Hogar is a nonprofit organization based in Massachusetts that supports El Hogar Projects in Honduras. It operates as a charitable entity with a purpose to provide financial assistance for education, housing, and vocational training initiatives for vulnerable children and youth through El Hogar Projects. The organization relies on a small full‑time staff, a board, and volunteers from the United States and Canada to coordinate sponsorships, events, and donations from individuals and faith communities, aiming to sustain educational and living programs in Honduras. El Hogar Projects, founded in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, operates two centers that serve around 200 children and youth, beginning with an elementary program for ages five through sixth grade, followed by a technical institute offering seventh to twelfth grade education and vocational training in welding and electricity. Since 2007, girls have participated in the program and, from 2018 onward, pursue secondary education at the Technical Institute alongside male peers. The organization also runs a working farm intended to support the centers and advance self-sufficiency by producing foods for local use and potential market activity.
