Elder Law of Michigan is a nonprofit organization focused on advocacy, education, and practical assistance for older adults and people with disabilities. It provides no-cost counseling on legal matters, pensions, housing, nutrition, and benefits access, and coordinates direct support as well as collaborative help with partner organizations serving these populations. Incorporated in 1990, the organization has delivered programs for more than 25 years. Based in Lansing, Michigan, it operates within the services for the elderly and disabled sector and is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, with a management team that brings extensive nonprofit leadership experience. Volunteers play a central role, contributing to research, client advice, correspondence, and updates to internal resources and publications. A notable program development was the 2014 launch of Mi-SOAP, Michigan's Support for Older Adults Portal.
