Elected Officials to Protect America is a small nonprofit based in Rockland, Maine, that convenes current and former elected officials dedicated to environmental protection. It is described as the only national organization that mobilizes veterans who are lawmakers on environmental issues, with a focus on addressing the climate crisis, advancing environmental justice, and safeguarding lands and waters. The group educates through storytelling, trains lawmakers, and connects elected officials to foster environmental leadership. 

At the federal level, EOPA helped pass the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which protects more than 40,000 monuments and parks across the United States. Locally, it organized over 1,000 lawmakers in New York to ban fracking. The organization advocates for a Federal Climate Emergency Plan and policies intended to build a resilient, equitable clean-energy economy, address racial and environmental injustices, protect public lands and waters, and promote international action on climate.
