EIS is a nonprofit organization based in San Diego, California, focused on STEM education for youth. It seeks to address the underrepresentation of students in science by offering hands-on laboratory experiences within an interactive, inquiry-based setting that develops analytical and critical-thinking skills. The organization serves the San Diego region by providing exposure to a broad range of STEM fields through its program design.

The organization began in 1964 as an after-school club in Southeast San Diego for children ages 7-13 and has since expanded to provide after-school and weekend science enrichment through partnerships with local schools, universities, and businesses. In 2003, EIS opened a two-story, 15,000-square-foot facility featuring six science laboratories, two computer science labs, a lecture theatre, outdoor space, a nature trail, and a conference room to support its programs. Its ongoing work focuses on delivering carefully designed, hands-on STEM activities and courses that connect science theory with practical applications for motivated students.
