Elevated Expectations is a nonprofit organization committed to providing diverse, life enriching experiences for underserved children in the Brownsville community of Brooklyn, NY. Elevated's founder, Jonas Rousseau was raised in Brownsville, fully understanding the impact socioeconomic status can have on future successes. Through his own experiences of utilizing sports to motivate him to graduate high school, and earn a collegiate football scholarship, Jonas created Elevated Expectations to grant similar opportunities to children in Brooklyn. Elevated Expectations hosts summer programs for low income, underpriveleged children between the ages of 5-14. The program consists of weekly field trips, workshops, arts and crafts, dance, and fitness activities. Children learn problem solving and teamwork skills from working with staff and peers while rehearsing weekly for an end of summer showcase for their families and neighborhood.
