ELSA (European Law Students' Association) is a non-profit organization focused on legal education, aiming to foster mutual understanding among future legal professionals and promote social responsibility among law students and young lawyers. It is the world's largest independent law students' association, with a membership of about 60,000 students and recent graduates. The association operates mainly through local groups at nearly 430 universities in 43 European countries. Its official vision emphasizes a just world with respect for human dignity and cultural diversity. The organization is based at 239 Boulevard Général Jacques Ixelles, Brussels 1050 Belgium. In 2023, ELSA Helsinki launched the 12th edition of the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition in cooperation with the Council of Europe.
