Illustrated greeting cards, stationery and gifts for the relationships we really have. Creator of Empathy Cards, for major illness, loss, and hard times. Founded by writer, illustrator and designer Emily McDowell in 2013. In 2018, we joined forces with the kindred spirits at Knock Knock—another female-founded company—uniting as two sister brands under one kickass umbrella. In 2019, we added "Friends" to our product collections—outside creative collaborators, including amazing artists and writers like Lisa Congdon and Elizabeth Gilbert. And in 2022, along with Knock Knock, we were acquired by Union Square & Co., the publishing division of Barnes & Noble.
