Emerald Cities Collaborative (ECC) is a national nonprofit focused on advancing racial, economic, and climate justice to foster more equitable, economically just, and sustainable communities. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the organization operates across five regions and selected U.S. cities, implementing place-based strategies that emphasize community and worker powerbuilding, economic inclusion, and equitable policy implementation. ECC provides policy capacity, program leadership, coalition building, and technical assistance through its Civic Infrastructure and Strategic Initiatives to support community-based organizations, government entities, and other partners. Since its founding in 2009, ECC has expanded its reach to other regions including Northwest, Northern California, Southern California, Northeast, and the DC/Maryland/Virginia area, and has pursued collaborations such as regional partnerships to advance local coalitions and initiatives. A recent development includes the launch of the Western Massachusetts E-Contractor Academy in partnership with regional planning and economic development bodies.
