A group of citizens started Emerald PUD in 1983 to achieve better reliability and lower rates. Today, more than 40 years later, Emerald residential customers receive electric rates that are 30% lower than our predecessor! We are pleased to serve approximately 23,000 homes, businesses, and farms in rural Lane County.  We have 87 employees, all of whom live locally. Emerald PUD is one of six People's Utility Districts providing electricity to customers in Oregon.
