Emerging Prairie, based in Fargo, North Dakota, acts as a regional ecosystem builder for entrepreneurs, organizing events, programs, and conferences to accelerate growth. It began in 2012 as a digital media company focused on entrepreneurship and founders and evolved into a network that connects people and resources within the business community. In 2019 it launched Grand Farm, a farm-tech initiative developed in partnership with Microsoft and others, signaling an emphasis on agriculture technology as a regional growth area. From Grand Farm emerged Emerging Digital Academy, a 20-week immersive program intended to train software engineers to meet local job demand, with an annual goal of about 50 graduates. The organization’s work targets entrepreneurs, agtech interests, students, and other regional stakeholders seeking to build and strengthen the local economy. In 2024 the team expanded with new hires, including Nick Sinner and Kira Knutson, reflecting ongoing growth and program expansion.
