Emmaüs France is a pioneer in a circular and solidarity economy that has worked to reduce poverty and exclusion since 1949. It is an association under French law that federates 303 Emmaüs groups across France, encompassing communities, social housing and related actions, SOS Familles Emmaüs, committees of friends, and insertion structures. Nearly 35,000 people participate in the movement in France, including employees, volunteers, people hosted by programs, and partners. The federation is governed by a board elected by its general assembly, and a permanent staff based in Montreuil coordinates policy and implementation. Its mission is to develop original and complementary responses to address the various forms of exclusion. A recent development is the Shared Mobility project launched with the PSA Foundation, illustrating collaboration to broaden social impact.
