The Employers' Coalition on Health (ECOH) is an insurance-focused organization founded in 1995 by a group of Rockford-area employers. It operates as a collaborative network that negotiates and manages health care delivery through direct contracts with providers, emphasizing quality and appropriate care delivery for its members. Located in Rockford, Illinois, ECOH has grown to include more than 130 companies across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, representing around 50,000 covered lives. The coalition offers a PPO network for self-funded employers and has expanded to include two distinct provider networks spanning Illinois and parts of Wisconsin, Indiana, and Iowa, encompassing tens of thousands of primary and specialty care providers and numerous facilities. ECOH also develops and supports initiatives aimed at patient satisfaction, chronic disease management, plan design and treatment best practices, and on-site health and wellness education, while engaging its member companies, providers, and board of directors to address the evolving needs of regional health care delivery. A recent development in its approach includes its Vital Signs program, a private health benefit exchange designed to support small employers locally.
