Enagás operates as the Technical Manager of the Spanish Gas System and is the principal carrier of natural gas in Spain, with certification as an independent Transmission System Operator (TSO) by the European Union. In Spain, it manages about 11,000 kilometers of pipelines and owns three underground storage facilities in Serrablo, Gaviota, and Yela, as well as four regasification plants in Barcelona, Huelva, Cartagena and Gijón, with a 40% stake in the Bilbao regasification plant. The company’s LNG infrastructure includes storage capacity of 2,646,500 cubic meters and an output capacity of 6,250,000 Nm3 per hour. Enagás began international activity in 2011, becoming a shareholder in the TLA Altamira regasification plant in Mexico and participating in gas pipeline projects there, and it acquired an LNG terminal in Quintero, Chile, in 2012. Since its market debut in 2002, Enagás has been listed on the Ibex 35 index with a free float around 90%; the company is headquartered in Madrid at 19 Paseo de Los Olmos, 28005, employs between 1,001 and 5,000 people, and maintains a website at enagas.es.
