The English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) is a performing arts organization founded in 1932 to promote learning, participation, performance and artist development in the folk arts. Based in London, England, it operates nationally and internationally, managing programs such as the National Youth Folk Ensemble and a range of classes, courses, projects, and events for diverse ages and experience levels. It also preserves England’s folk heritage as custodian of the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library and owns Cecil Sharp House, a dedicated folk arts centre.

Its work targets schools, colleges, community groups and cultural organizations across England, as well as individual folk artists and educators, providing access to education opportunities, professional development and performance pathways. In February 2026, EFDSS and its National Youth Folk Ensemble were recognized with the ABO Impact Award for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, highlighting its commitment to inclusive practice and heritage access.
