The Eno River Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving and protecting the natural, cultural, and historic resources of the Eno River basin. Based in Durham, North Carolina, the group has a long history dating back to 1966 and has helped secure more than 7,000 acres of protected lands, primarily within public parks such as Eno River State Park, Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area, West Point on the Eno Durham City Park, Penny’s Bend Nature Preserve, and Little River Regional Park. Its work encompasses land protection, environmental education, and advocacy aimed at responsible land use and river stewardship, alongside community programming like hiking series to highlight the region’s flora, fauna, and history. A key activity is organizing the Festival for the Eno, a multi-faceted community event whose proceeds support ongoing conservation efforts in the Eno River watershed.
