ENRESA is a public, non-profit entity created by the Spanish Parliament in 1984 to manage radioactive waste. Its remit includes the collection, treatment, conditioning, and storage of radioactive waste generated across Spain. Based in the Community of Madrid, Spain, ENRESA operates in the environmental services sector and employs a few hundred people. Its activities include dismantling nuclear and radiological facilities that are no longer in operation and performing environmental restoration of uranium mines.
