Enstor is the largest privately owned natural gas storage company in the United States, headquartered in Houston. It owns and operates six underground storage facilities across four states, with more than 110 Bcf of working gas capacity, and it maintains about 179 miles of transmission pipelines and 39 interconnects to major pipelines. The company uses its operational characteristics to provide storage services that adapt to changing market conditions rather than relying solely on traditional firm storage contracts. The six storage facilities are located in Mississippi, Alabama, New Mexico, and Texas. They include Caledonia Gas Storage, Freebird Gas Storage, Grama Ridge Gas Storage, Katy Storage Hub, Bay Gas Storage Facility, and Mississippi Hub Storage. In August 2025, Enstor announced the acquisition of Black Bear Transmission LLC, viewed as a complementary addition to its platform.
