Founded in 1942, the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) is a multifaceted organization that occupies a unique place in the world of philanthropy. By mobilizing and leveraging the powerful voice and creative talents of the entertainment industry, as well as cultivating the support of organizations (public and private) and philanthropists committed to social responsibility, EIF builds awareness and raises funds, developing and enhancing programs on the local, national, and global level that facilitate positive social change. Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a division of EIF, funds research to develop the newest and most promising cancer treatments to help patients today. SU2C has funded nearly 2,000 researchers and has contributed to nine new FDA-approved cancer treatments. Defy:Disaster, EIF’s official disaster response program, is dedicated to providing aid to survivors and communities affected by natural disasters to help them recover and rebuild. Defy:Disaster has responded to more than 40 disasters across six continents. The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) Careers Program is increasing access to entertainment careers for historically excluded communities by leveraging deeply-rooted relationships in the entertainment industry and amongst community-based organizations. EIF serves as fiscal sponsor to athletes, artists, and influencers looking to increase their impact and leverage their platforms for social good.
