Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) is a government agency established in 1996 that protects air quality, groundwater, and biodiversity across Abu Dhabi’s desert and marine ecosystems. It partners with government entities, the private sector, NGOs, and international environmental organizations to adopt international best practices, foster innovation, and implement effective policies. The agency also aims to raise environmental awareness and support sustainable development, ensuring environmental issues remain a national priority. Recent initiatives include a Framework Partnership Agreement with the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the launch of an AI-powered Abu Dhabi State of Environment Portal at COP30, as well as Nature X Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Advanced Technology Research Council to accelerate ecosystem conservation.
