Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization founded in 1984 by a bipartisan Congressional caucus to provide policymakers with timely, credible information on environmental and energy issues and to promote practical, science-based solutions. Operating within the environmental services sector, it concentrates on climate change, energy, and environmental challenges with the aim of advancing sustainable, resilient, and equitable outcomes. The organization supports policymakers and other influential stakeholders through information, analysis, and briefings that inform policy development. Its activities include partnerships and collaborative projects with organizations to address climate adaptation and workforce issues, such as ties with the American Society of Adaptation Professionals (ASAP). In 2026, EESI hosted EXPO 2026, a longstanding annual event hosted by EESI and co-hosted by the House and Senate Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (REEE) Caucuses that brings together innovators, industry groups, and policymakers to brief congressional staff on advances in clean energy and energy efficiency.
