Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit law practice that combines research, reporting, and media outreach to expose illegal pollution and political intimidation of enforcement staff. Its work aims to spur federal and state agencies to take enforcement action and to illuminate patterns of noncompliance across the energy and industrial sectors. The organization focuses on producing investigations and public-facing information that has been used in congressional hearings and in reports by the US Government Accountability Office, as well as in various news outlets. EIP has initiatives such as Oil & Gas Watch and has released reports and analyses on coal ash, refinery emissions, and the climate implications of LNG development, reflecting its emphasis on documenting environmental violations and promoting accountability.
