Episcopal Divinity School (EDS) is a non-profit institution focused on theological education, faith development, and social justice within a higher-education context. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the school originated from the 1974 merger of Episcopal Theological School and Philadelphia Divinity School and has engaged in programs and initiatives that address topics such as voting rights, women’s ordination, and LGBTQ+ advocacy. In recent years, EDS expanded to New York and developed an Anglican Studies program through its affiliation with Union Theological Seminary, while pursuing a year-long strategic planning process to define its future as an independent venture. The organization continues to offer programs and roles that support faith communities and scholarly work, periodically announcing new appointments and initiatives, including staff additions and collaborative projects. Acknowledging ongoing opportunities in theological education at a crossroads, EDS invites continued involvement to shape its path forward in alignment with its commitments to education, faith, and social justice.
