Established in 2008, Equity Group Foundation (EGF) is a not-for-profit implementing foundation born out of Equity Bank Group’s commitment to servicing the poor, both through its core business model and its various corporate social responsibility initiatives. EGF champions social development programmes, creates effective partnerships, and leverages strategic financial investments with the goal of improving the lives of at least 50 million people by 2020. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, EGF responds to the continuum of issues that challenge economic advancement, especially for low-income individuals and families, to create change through six programme pillars:
