Esperanza Community Housing Corporation is a social justice nonprofit focused on long-term, comprehensive community development in South Central Los Angeles. It recognizes that Indigenous, Black, and Latino immigrant communities bear disproportionate impacts from historical oppression, health disparities, disinvestment, and displacement. The organization develops and preserves affordable housing, advances health equity and access to care, and works on environmental justice, local economic opportunities, arts and culture, and human rights advocacy, all through collaborative engagement with residents to strengthen the community. It is based in Los Angeles, California, and operates within the civic and social organizations sector to serve residents of South Central Los Angeles. In January 2024, Esperanza announced a partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency to participate in the Wildfire Smoke Preparedness Grant Program.
